'C; Users Jim My Games Far Cry Primal GamerProfile.xml' This directory and associated files do not exist on my PC after on-line download and install of game. I have rebooted, etc., tried off-line, verified the install, still no joy. I created the folder and files by copying from Far Cry 4, and had some success, but eventually, the Far Cry 4 files weren't up to it. How do I get the Far Cry Primal local directory contents?(and why didn't it install in the first place?). Well no, they're not going to be there all of a sudden, Primal creates that folder when saving configuration. That's when it crashes in your case and why @Viragoxv535 suggested running the game as an Administrator.

Do you have any subfolders in the /My Games folder other than Far Cry Primal? Could it be that it's read-only? It really does sound like an access-denied sort of issue, so I'm not sure why running Uplay as Administrator wouldn't fix it. Yes I do.Far Cry 3 & 4 are there. There are no access problems. Install was done as Admin, and subsequent launches also as admin. The directory was simply not created by the install.

It's read during the initial launch, so it's probably modified when changing from the default configuration. I've 'faked' it using the files from Far Cry 4 in a Far Cry Primal directory I created, and passed on by the original error. It then fails later on in the launch sequence, since the files are not quite right for Primal.

Just installed Far Cry 2 with no problems. (retro!) Hi had the same issue. Reason is a Windows 10 upgrade without a clean install. It messes up with user rights from previous windows version. To solve issue go to C: User My Documents Mygames and create the folder Far Cry Primal manually.

(the folder you see in error message box, path must be correct) then right click on the folder select properties and change to security tab. There press the settings button directly below the small overview of the users list. In next window select the user name you have when you logon to windows and give it 'full rights'.

Press ok and apply. If it doesnt work you have selected the wrong user name. I gave all user in the list full rights so i dont need to experiment which is correct I also had this issue with fallout 4. Hopefully this will help.

I've had similar problems with a few other programs since upgrading to Win 10, but didn't connect it with this particular one. (already finding new and creative ways to die in prehistory!:-)). For me, I had originally installed Far Cry Primal on a different games drive. Then I decided to switch that specific hard drive to a different computer and removed everything that had been installed on it. When I removed the drive, I would try launching far cry and as soon as I got past the loading screen, the game would crash with the exact same error you stated. To fix it, I went to my document window and found that the drive I had originally installed it on was still pointing to a location that didn't exist.

I right-clicked the specific drive that didn't exist anymore and chose 'Properties'. It actually turns out I had set my documents folder as the drive I had removed. I clicked on the 'Location' tab and chose 'Restore Defaults'. Then after a few minutes, the game was able to access the files it needed to launch, as it knew it wasn't looking for files in a nonexistent directory. Hope this helps!
